I really liked the simplicity and the techniques in this months tag. I love that Tim Holtz always teaches a new technique or trick that you might not have thought of. I'm a Ranger U graduate and I try to keep up on all the latest and greatest products, education and techniques for my store and customers and he always seams to surprise me. This month I loved the effect that you get with misting the water color paper first with water and then giving it puffs of color with the marker spritzer. The colors marbleize very nicely for a muted background base. I also liked using the pumice stone marker around the images to cast a shadow and give it some dimension.  I didn't have the Sizzix dies Tim used, so I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the negative "ART" and the strips to slide the water colored paper behind. The word "Create" was also created with the cameo and I welded the letter together. |
